IGO Polyhouse Farming Projects and Services
What is Polyhouse Farming?
A green house, often known as a polyhouse, is a building or house made of polyethylene. This translucent glass-like substance allows plants to thrive and flourish in controlled environmental conditions. Depending on your needs, the size of your structure might range from large structures to little shacks.

Growth and healthy production of plants under controlled favorable conditions in closed or partially closed spaces are called polyhouse.

Poly house concepts emerged to undertake adverse environmental conditions such as excess of raining, high temperature, extremely cold conditions, airflow, etc.
Advantages of Polyhouse farming.
-
Protection from excess rainfall, wind current, scorching sunlight and extreme cold conditions.
-
It can be erected on unproductive soil.
-
Under minimum space one can have a maximum production of crop plants.
-
Humidity is maintained.
-
Efficient use of co2.
-
Minimum labor requirement.
-
Minimum use of water and fertilisers
-
Maximum use of space
-
A single person can have control over thousands of plants
-
Diseases and pest can be controlled easily
-
Water can be used economically
-
Production of crop throughout the year.
Types of Polyhouses
-
Naturally Ventilated Poly House System
-
Fully Closed Poly House System
Naturally Ventilated Polyhouse System
-
The corridor, located on the outer gable of the greenhouse, uses outside air for dehumidification and cooling.
-
Thus, the corridor is used to mix inner air with external air.
-
This phenomenon represents the air treatment of a semi-closed polyhouse.
Fully Closed Polyhouse System
-
On the opposite side, fans are put which blow out the air from the inside of the polyhouse.
-
The polyhouses need to be fully closed except for the pad and fans.
-
In Fan & Pad types pads with sump arrangement are placed on the leeward side wall of polyhouse so that the pads are constantly kept wet.
-
On the opposite side, fans are put which blow out the air from the inside of the polyhouse.
-
The polyhouses need to be fully closed except for the pad and fans so that cooler air from the pad circulates around all over the inside of polyhouse.
