Open Cultivation - Chilli

1. This crop is grown largely for its fruits all over India

2. It is used in India as a principal ingredient of various curries and chutneys

3. Every Farmer harvest about 2 Quintals of chillies and is selling them in the market for Rs 90 to 100 per kg

4. In this way farmers are earning Rs 15000 and Rs 2000 every week by selling chillies in the market

5. The yield varies according to the system of cultivation

6. The dry chillies of rain fed crop is 200-400 kg

7. The irrigated variety is 600-1000 per acre

8. The best season for growing chilli is December to April
